Similarities between
post office mail and email-
- Both mail and email have a mailbox to receive mail.- Post mail has a box built outside of each home that receives mail. Email has an inbox that receives all incoming mail.
- Mail and email both a centralized location where the mail is collected and then re-distributed to the receiver.
- Both are used by advertisers to solicit people.- Advertisers send mass emails to people to get people to know about sales. Mail sends mass print letters to individual people.
- Mail and email have some sort of way to sort out the mail- for example- no illegal substances can be sent via mail. Email has a feature to sort the mail to the junk folder.
Differences between post
office mail and email-
- Mail is a physical form of mail. Email is digitalized.
- Email is received faster than mail.- Email can be sent from location and received in a matter of minutes. Mail is received in 5-7 days.
- A package that includes some sort of physical item cannot be sent thru email.- a physical commodity cannot be sent via email.
- Viruses can be attached to emails and mail is safer in that sense.- Sometimes hackers can attach a virus so when the receiver opens it a virus is implanted in the computer.
- Each time a person needs to send mail a postage stamp is attached to that.
- For email an exact email address should be used otherwise it won’t be sent.
