Convergence is a crazy topic and scary one to discuss. What ever happened to the good old days when friends used to get together and plan to go watch a movie in theatres. That’s all changed with the converging of technology nowadays they hype is not about planning for a movie we its all about when the movie will be released to the web or be available for purchase online. Theatres are going thru a crisis and have choice to make weather to stay open or go out business because all the movies being able to be streamed online days after it is released. Many theatres that had been around for years have been shutting their doors or being bought out by the major cinemas like AMC or Regal. Everything that we would have to wait for or must get is all being available at our fingertips. Convergence is making it easier people to access things. What I am Excited About and What I fear

Technology is advancing every day and newer things are being launched daily that is changing the way we do things. I have more fear than being excited due to the face that this advancement is bringing fear to people. The biggest fear that I and as well many other people faces is jobs. Many labor jobs are being taken away and people are being replaced with robots. Many companies are finding it cheaper to buy a robot to do basic labor jobs and take away the physical person. This really brings fear since we are just in the beginning stages of the tech advancement with time advancements are going to be out of this world. Literally every day new advancements are just mind blowing, when tesla unveiled its new semi-trucks, don’t get me wrong they are very cool but they are going to take away thousands of jobs which is the scary part to me. Topic For My Presentation

For my presentation I would like to talk about social media with an emphasis in cyber bulling. This a very big topic so if were to talk about just social media solely it would be a very big presentation. With the creation of all these new social media sites such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, snapchat, etc. cyber bullying is a topic that people need to learn about. Personally, I feel as if there should be informative classed offered to kids in middle or even in high school to educate. The new generation is being born in to the era of social media. Social media is a very good tool that can help people and even destroy people. Many people have been victims of cyber bullying where they have been talked down upon on websites such as twitter, Facebook. This topic is very dear to me because many people I know have been victims and it just really annoys me. Dot com to Dot bomb put things in to perspective from where technology started to where it is now. This statement can be used two ways to explain certain things such the size of how technology started and how technology was used when it first began. Computers were first made for use by huge companies two reasons for that were the costs of the computers were huge and only major companies were the ones that could afford, second reason being only companies had the need for the such technology the public didn’t need the computer. Even mass storage for computer was very space occupying, if we look at captain America when they are in the bunker the room was full of storage. It isn't just about being a Programmer- Shadrach White

Professor Andrew Fry brought in a guest speaker/ good friend Shadrach White. He was brought in to class to give us his experience on how he was able to find a way to make money off the ever so advancing web. Shadrach white has been successful and started various different companies such as Image source. When Washington had passed the recreational marijuana bill where it was basically legalized, Shadrach had been in the right place at the right time. When the legalization bill was passed local agencies needed to find a way for businesses to obtain the proper licensing from the agency and be able to renew it every year. Shadrach then started a basic website for the agencies thru Amazon Web Services and presented it to the agency. Now if we analyze this a website was created in the matter of minutes thru Amazon web services. No one had to write up all the code and manually create this, it was all done thru AWS. Startup.com

Startup.com was an interesting documentary. This documentary was about three entrepreneurs who had an idea to innovate and make money off the advancing web. These entrepreneurs had known each other since a young age and had an idea to become rich off a dot come website. Now being older they decided to make a website to pursue that dream of becoming rich. One of the partners had left Goldman sachs to pursue his dream about creating a website, that’s the dedication to becoming rich. The website that the partners had come up with is govworks. This website was supposed to be launched to basically help the government collect payment for various things mostly parking tickets via the internet. This idea of theirs was to help municipal governments collect revenue from an online interface. There was a third partner which was a friend of one of the partners and it seemed he was not picking up his weight, so he had been bought out by the company leaving only two people responsible for the compa

Web Page with HTML

When professor Fry told us a way to check out the coding for specific webpage I went played with that a little bit. Man, it was so much text that made no sense, it was just so confusing. so many words just combined to just make one webpage. There was one paragraph of just < > to make one tenth of the page, different sections were made with separate html texts. This assignment really opened my eyes and made me aware of how a page is made. I have friends in the computer science field and in the web design field, they always made it sound so easy nothing as complicated as what it is. This assignment was just one sentence on a blank page, I can’t even imagine what could have gone in to making a full-size webpage. When the instructions were passed out in class and I started looking over them it looked so confusing. I was for sure I was going to have troubles doing this mini project. When I started doing the assignment it was super easy, I was amazed how easy I finished the project.
